On Saturday, September 6th, Project Mexico & St. Innocent Orphanage was the beneficiary of the first ever, Swim for Hope fundraiser, spearheaded by Fr. Simeon Corona of St. Gregory of Nyssa Greek Orthodox Church in El Cajon, CA. Participants swam or kayaked the over eight mile channel, from South Coronado Island to Rancho Del Mar beach. After, the event, everyone enjoyed a birthday fiesta celebration with the boys at the orphanage to honor Fr. Simeon’s 50th Birthday. Through everyone’s combined efforts, the swim raised over $13,000!
